Fab Friday Challenge Blog – Challege 38 – Serene Silhouettes et al

It's time for a new Fab Friday challenge over at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog!

This week we have a color challenge:

Fab Fri Logos-042

This really was a challenge for me, because I am just NOT about color combinations that, well, don't have BLUE in there somewhere, LOL! But actually, when I made the card, it turned out pretty dang cool (YILM!) Lookie:

Ingredients: Stamps – Serene Silhouettes, Summer Silhouettes, Wetlands, Hardwood, Petite Pairs; Paper – Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Pistaschio Pudding; Ink – Versamark, Pistaschio Pudding, Sahara Sand, Baked Brown Sugar; Other – Medium Oval punch, Clear EP, Natural 7/16" trim, Sahara Sand marker, sponge wedges, Dimensionals.

GOJUS! (YILM)! I used a melange of silhouette stamps to create this "flowerscape" which is what immediately sprang to mind when I was trying to decide what to do with these colors. And I thought of sympathy cards, just because it is a nice soft combination.

Note the absence of:

  • Patterned paper.
  • Dies or Framelits.
  • Washi tape.
  • Buttons.
  • Clips.
  • BradsFrom Millan.Net Seriously? Where are my signature two brads? Well, I tried, children, I really did, but they just didn't belong!

This is how we used to stamp, children. From Millan.Net Just us and the stamps and maybe a bit of ribbon if you could find something that suited. You whippersnappers got it too easy these days! It wasn't SAFE. You had to get your fingers inky! You had to cut things out BY HAND! You had to go to the stamp store, 15 miles away! In the snow! Uphill! Both ways!

From Millan.NetWell, maybe it wasn't that bad. It reminds me of reading my grandmother's memoirs. She grew up on a farm without any of the modern conveniences we take for granted. She said she didn't miss doing laundry on a washboard or any of the other things she used to have to do. She liked her washing machine, thank you very much. The only thing she really missed was making sauerkraut (and I bet it was fantastic! Hey, I like sauerkraut!)

You'll be able to see all of our creations and post one of your own by visiting the Fab Friday blog. You can also visit the other DT members' blogs and see what they've done with this challenge:
