Fab Friday – Challenge 61 – Mother’s Love Card
It's time for a new Fab Friday challenge over at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog!
This week we have a color challenge:
I always find a pastel combination to be a real challenge. I found this one especially challenging because these are some of the MOST pastel colors ever (barring the Pear Pizzaz).
I decided to use Mother's Love, a set I had gotten recently and had not used yet. I stamped a "flower scape", thinking I'd use Crumb Cake as the card base, but it was too meh. I tried it with Soft Sky as the card base and was much happier.
GOJUS!!! (YILM!) I added dots of white gel pen to the flower centers to give it texture.
After I put the card together I realized that there needed to be more of the yellow flowers, but I couldn't really stamp them on top of what I already had so I stamped some, fussy cut them out, and popped them on top.
I knew I'd have to do the sentiment in a darker color or it just wouldn't show up, and I didn't want to add a layer on top to cover up any of the flowers since it was such a big sentiment. So I went with Chocolate Chip. But then it was so dark I decided to add some white gel pen to make it look lighter and more awesome.
And here's the inside.
You'll be able to see all of our creations and post one of your own by visiting the Fab Friday blog. You can also visit the other DT members' blogs and see what they've done with this challenge:
