Fab Friday – Challenge 72 – Among the Branches
It's time for a new Fab Friday challenge over at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog!
This week we have a sketch challenge:
Even though I'm on an amazing jag of Christmas and holiday designs, I decided to do a Halloween card for this sketch, since I just got the Spider Web Doilies and was itching to use them! I took a few liberties with this sketch, though, since I didn't have an element as large as that star that would look good, and I didn't put the slightly diagonal element in front of the doily but behind it. But I'm really happy with what I have created! Lookie:
GOJUS! (YILM!) I love the crow and tombstone paper from the Happy Haunting DSP, and I thought it made a great background for the doily.
This is my nod to the star element in the sketch. I found something I had pinned regarding using paperclips with banners for an embellishment, and it works SO well here! I punched the star out of the Black Glimmer paper and placed a rhinestone colored with a black Sharpie (looks more purple than black) on top.
The Trick or Treat is from A Little Something Set. I stamped the focal piece with the new archival Basic Black pad. It's nice and black!
You'll be able to see all of our creations and post one of your own by visiting the Fab Friday blog. You can also visit the other DT members' blogs and see what they've done with this challenge:
