Fabulous Fall and Happy Holidays with the Freaks

Fabulous Fall and Happy Holidays with the Freaks
It's time again to freak out with the Freaks on our monthly blog tour! If you've just arrived from Wendy Weixler's blog, you are in the right spot!

But if you started right here, fear not! You can manage to get all the way around the entire tour just by following the links at the bottom of each post.

This post is going live on the evening of the 19th, so if you find some posts in our tour have not yet posted, please be patient.  The entire tour should be accessible at some point this evening. Keep checking back!

The theme of this tour is Fall/Holiday! Quite a few of us are using cards from our recent Holiday catalog swaps, but there may be some other products mixed in. I'm using my swap cards because one is fall and other is Christmas, so it fits right in with our tour!

I'll show you my fall project first. I loved the new acorn punch in the Holiday catalog with the matching Acorny Thank You, and so that's what I chose for my swap. Lookie:

GOJUS!!! (YILM!) I did a little trick with the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch:
I punched two of the corners with one of the corner punches for the bottom layer. Let's just call it the butt corner because it sort of looks like a butt doesn't it? Smiley from Millan.Net And then for the next layer up I embossed with the Elegant Dots folder, and punched two corners again with the 3-teardrop corner. They layer perfectly, don't they?
Around the stems of the acorns I tied linen thread along with the very fine gold thread we now have in the big catalog.
For my second swap card, I picked the Joyful Season stamp set. Lookie:
GOJUS! (YILM!) I loved the colors from the Season of Cheer paper and decided to go with it.
It takes a light hand with some of these stamps to produce a good image as they are not deeply etched, and there are areas where SU! has left a tab that makes it easier to line up the branch images, but frankly, I trimmed them off because I found them super annoying.

Here I have the gold cording trim we used to carry as my embellishment, but on my swaps I used the current one, which is a bit thicker but behaves pretty much the same way.

Well, it's time for you to head on down the blog tour road. Next stop is Connie Babbert  and she's got some beautiful things to show you!
