Fab Friday – Challenge 77 – Simon Says Stamp Apple of My Pie
It's time for a new Fab Friday challenge over at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog!
This week we have a color challenge:
I had a hard time with this combination, not because I don't like it, but because it is just so FALL, and I just don't have my head there right now. I'm kind of stuck on Christmas, for the most part, so turning back my mental calendar took a large effort on my part. I hope you appreciate it. LOL.
Then it was a matter of choosing the stamps to use, and that was another problem. I don't have many new stamps with a fall theme, and I wanted to use new and exciting stamps. I finally decided to go with Simon Says Stamps Apple of My Pie, which I got in their November card kit. Once I got started, things just worked out even better than I expected! Lookie:
GOJUS!!! (YILM!) All the inks are, of course, the ones from the color combination above, and I just used Very Vanilla for all the card stock.
I wanted to add a bit more dimension to the large greeting, so I used a blender pen with some Cajun Craze ink to put a shadow behind each of the large letters and Hello Honey ink behind the smaller ones. I also pulled out my SU! Color Spritzer, sadly retired, but which now you can find under Tim Holtz's label for use with Distress markers (but obviously will also work with SU!):
Ranger Ink – Tim Holtz – Distress Marker Spritzer Tool – $12.74
And it's on sale right now! I always love the fine spritz of color I get using this tool.
I used some retired Blackberry Bliss ribbon with the ends trimmed with pinking shears.
These pretty rhinestones are from TPC Studio and have been in my stash a long time.
You'll be able to see all of our creations and post one of your own by visiting the Fab Friday blog. You can also visit the other DT members' blogs and see what they've done with this challenge:
