My Favorite Things – Adorable Elephants

My Favorite Things – Adorable Elephants

When I saw the new release from My Favorite Things, it wasn't so much as making a list of what I wanted as figuring out what I didn't want and also deciding out of all the things I wanted what could wait until later. Because my wish list was really loooonnggg!

One of the things I knew I had to have right away was this stinkin' cute stamp set, Adorable Elephants. When I got it on Saturday, I stamped a whole sheet of them and colored them all up, cut them out with the PixScan, and then started making cards out of them. This is the first one I finished, and after I finished it (or thought I did) I got up the next morning and decided there were changes that needed to be made. Luckily, the elements that needed to be moved came up without ripping anything or getting jacked up. Anyway, lookie:

STINKIN' CUTE!!! (YILM!) Originally, the letters in BABY were a little closer to the stamp from the retired SU! set One in a Million, but I moved them up just a bit to give a little space. I also added that little lacy thingie under the button and the white stenciled piece just to frame the button and add something special there. It was cut with a really old Cuttlebug die (Vintage 2×2) that I now have access to now that I've rearranged all my schtuff. You can still find these if you look hard, and I tracked it down on Amazon and linked it up below.

I used some way long-ago retired DSP from SU! in Bashful Blue, a color that is also retired. I used that ink, but I can confidently tell you that if you are looking for a substitute for Bashful Blue, Memento Summer Sky comes the closest and could be substituted. The gingham ribbon is also long retired, but I think it looks really precious on baby cards, so I used some of my carefully hoarded collection on this card.

I colored my little plaid elephant with Copics and used Prismacolors to add the plaid lines. I think he's so cute! And I love the new Circle Burst stencil from MFT.

Below is my list of products that I used (that are still available), and I have used affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, and Blick Art Supplies. Buying through these links helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you. Stampin' Up! product links lead to their webstore, so please be sure to indicate your preference in demonstrator if it doesn't come up automatically!

Enjoy! Ta!

  • Super cute, Jan. I can’t wait to get this set. I ordered it as soon as I could thinking that elephant was one of the sweetest images I’ve seen in a while! Love the way you colored him and how the whole card comes together. It’s terrific.
