Simon Says Stamp – Handwritten Floral Greetings – SSS Kit July 2016

Well, I've done it again. Delayed using and showing this great kit until it is SOLD OUT! However, you can still get the stamps (at least when they are back in stock!) and most of the other stuff, though I couldn't find the patterned paper to link up anywhere.

One of the things I liked about it is the hybrid ink cubes, which I have quite a number of already, but this gave me a couple of other colors that I didn't already have. These inks are waterproof, so you can use them with watercolor and they will not budge! The kit also comes with a water brush and a couple of pieces of watercolor paper, so I decided to do a watercolor wash after stamping with the hybrid inks. Lookie:

GOJUS! (YILM!) I used Peerless Watercolors to color the background and the big flower and leaves, which were stamped with the Simon Says Stamp Slate Hybrid ink. The smaller flowers and dots are stamped with the other ink cubes in the kit, Thistle, Goldenlocks, and Steel Blue.

I wasn't real persnickety about staying inside the lines, and I like the loose flowy look I got. I cut the watercolor paper out with Tim Holtz's Stitched Rectangle dies.

I used a soft purple baker's twine for an accent.

Two soft blue rhinestones make great accents.

I over-painted the big flower and leaves and the dots with Wink of Stella Clear to add a bit more magic.

SO pretty!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC,, Ribbon Resource, Gina K, and Blick Art Supplies. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you. Stampin' Up! product links lead to their webstore, so please be sure to indicate your preference in demonstrator if it doesn't come up automatically!

Enjoy! Ta!
