Happy New Year! Simon Says Stamp – Kristina’s Love
I hope you are as happy as I am to see the end of 2016! From the changes our family has experienced, some good but some not so good, along with saying farewell to so many great musicians, artists, authors, and actors, as well as the drama we have seen playing out on our national stage, 2016 is ready to go!
I decided to celebrate the New Year by moving ON from Christmas cards! I do still have a few Christmas sets that I didn't quite get to, and I may still pull those out and play with them plus I will be playing again with the Tim Holtz Snowglobe dies since I've heard from quite a few people who say, "Keep 'em coming!", since there is no rule that says you can't make a Christmas card in January or at any other time of year, but frankly, I got some new goodies from Simon Says Stamp for Valentine's Day crafting and was dying to play!
I love the stamps designed by Kristina Werner, so I decided to start there with the new set, Kristina's Love, with matching dies. Lookie:
GOJUS! I also got the new Drawn Hearts stencil, which I used for my background, using distress inks to stencil a beautiful pattern on Neenah Solar White card stock.
I also did a beautiful color gradation on another piece of Neenah Solar White using the Ranger Blending sponges, then die cut my heart out so that the color that was on the top of the stenciled piece was on the bottom of the heart, and then I ran it through the Big Shot
with this great We R Memory Keepers Next Dimension folder. I love how it echoes my sentiment, showing a heart that is in pieces, yet has not broken apart. I stamped the "you to pieces" using Versamark on some black card stock from Simon Says Stamp, heat embossing with white EP, and I used the matching die for the stamp set to cut the work Love out of the same card stock.
I was really excited to use one of these paper clips from Maya Road, which I've had for a while and had not yet found a good project to use them on. I added some washi tape I bought at Hobby Lobby and a tiny bow of baker's twine.
I just needed one little accent on the upper right corner to balance out the card, and I added one large Doodlebug Design Sprinkle in Silver.
I love it!!
