Fab Friday 106 – Mama Elephant Lunar Animals

Fab Friday 106 – Mama Elephant Lunar Animals
Welcome back to the Fab Friday challenge over at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog!

This week we have a color challenge:

I decided to make an Easter card with this combination. And the madness ensued.

Because I don't sell SU! any more, I don't have any of the new DSP. So I decided to make my own plaid with markers. And then it was so LOUD that it took over everything. So I discarded it and tried using washi tape to make a different kind of card. And it just didn't look right. I ended up going to bed in disgust last night and deciding to see what the morning brought. I got another idea and was able to incorporate my original idea too! And it turned out pretty cute! Lookie:

STINKIN' CUTE! I hunted through my sets to find a bunny, and struck on Lunar Animals. Isn't this bunny cute? I matched up the colors with Copics and colored him in three times and cut him out with my Silhouette and the PixScan, but I've linked up the matching dies if you are interested in those.

I slipped the plaid paper in behind this Peekaboo Peach mat. Just enough without overwhelming the rest of the card!

Not only was I able to use Lunar Animals, a set that hadn't seen ink yet, but the Stitched Triple Peekaboo Windows from My Favorite Things was also languishing in my stash! I also used Blueprints #27 for the scalloped mat and the tiny little flag in the bottom. I added some retired washi too to help balance out the card.

So cute!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you. Stampin' Up! links lead to their website, where you can select your favorite demonstrator or check out as a guest.

You'll be able to see all of the Fab Friday team's creations and post one of your own by visiting the Fab Friday blog. You can also visit the other DT members' blogs and see what they've done with this challenge:
