Sending Sunshine – Honey Bee Stamps & Ellen Hutson United We Flourish
When I saw sneak peeks of this collaboration between Ellen Hutson I was really excited. I have a thing for sun and cloud images and sayings. They are really hard for me to resist, and once I saw the actual set with the possibilities for building so many great sentiments along with the great bundle offered for purchase along side of it, I couldn’t help it and I ordered the lot.
With their usual speed, Ellen Hutson LLC shipped it out really quickly and I got it on Friday! It was so hard to wait until I was done working, but once I was done I proceeded to stay up way late making this card. Lookie:
GOJUS!!! I knew immediately that the first card I made would create this song lyric, from one of my favorite Motown songs!
♪♫I got sunshi-i-i-ine on a cloudy day! ♪♫
I used almost everything that came in the bundle guys! It was exciting to have so may coordinating products. I’m also excited to use some of my other Ellen Hutson dies and stamps that will go with these.
For the background, I used Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress ink to create a sky piece and then cut it with the Sunburst Cover Plate. I then used a Scattered Straw and Dried Marigold Distress inks with the Sunburst layering stencils, only using two of the stencils so that when I layered my Sunburst Cover Plate piece over it, I got a nice white edge around the yellow and orange shapes.
I sprinkled both pieces with water to get interesting splotches. I also sprayed the orange/yellow piece with shimmer spray made with Perfect Pears and water. I popped up the clouds and the words sun and shine on dimensionals.
The greeting pieces were all stamped on black card stock and heat embossed using Hero Arts white embossing powder. I cut the words sun and shine out with black card stock and used DCWV Metallic Glitz card stock.
I decided on orange sequins to add a little punch to the card front, and I also added a bit of black bakers twine.
Pictures just don’t do this justice! It glimmers, it glows, it sparkles!
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links lead to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, whose friendship is something I highly value, and I’m always happy to throw business her way. She does not reimburse me for doing so. If you have your own demo, you can of course change over to them. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
