My Favorite Things Jingle All the Way – MFTWSC359 – Video to follow
It’s been a long time since I played in the sketch challenge on the MFT challenge blog, but I liked the sketch they had this week so I thought I’d give it a go!
In addition, I had never tried no-line coloring, and I decided to give that a try too! If you follow my Instagram, you would have seen the coloring, but not the whole card. One of my Facebook friends said she’d like a tutorial on the coloring, so I decided why not? I know that a lot of other stamping folk have posted videos on this technique, but I always forget that not everyone watches the videos I do, and maybe my take is different (and I didn’t watch anyone else’s video anyway, LOL!) Lookie:
STINKIN’ CUTE! I love the Santas in this set of stamps so when I ordered from the last release I had to have this set. I decided to use Prismacolor pencils to do my no-line coloring with Simon Says Stamp Barely Beige ink.
It’ was a ton of fun…I’m making a video about it, but needed to get this card on the blog in time to enter it into the sketch challenge. I should have the video with a second card I made with no-line coloring and this set on the blog later in the week.
I did a little trick with this square stitched pinking edge die by cutting part of a second square and adding it to the bottom and hiding the join with the sentiment strip. I wanted the sentiment strip positioned like it is in the sketch, but if I put it over the square as it was, it would have covered up part of the image. Clever, no?
A couple of Doodlebug Glitter sprinkles really helped finish things off.
I felt like this Santa, ready to dance the night away, once I finished the card! It’s so cute and the no-line coloring looks great! Remember to keep an eye out for my video!
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links go to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, who does not pay me except in eternal friendship, but you can change to your favorite demonstrator if you prefer. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
