Essentials by Ellen’s December Release Mini Hop Day 2 – Confetti Flinger die et al
I was once again totally honored to be offered a guest design spot for Ellen Hutson LLC’s new release this month! If you just got here from Julie’s blog, you are in the right place! If you are starting here, don’t worry! You can follow along and circle back around to the posts before mine or just click on any links at the end of this post. I did receive all of these products for free, but chances are I would have bought everything anyway!
I know this mechanism has been around a long time, but this is the first time there has been a die made for it. Basically, it flings confetti out of your card when it’s opened. While this might not be something you want to do to the timid and faint of heart, I’m sure there is someone on your list of card recipients who needs a card like this. I had a ton of fun making this one! And now I’m just pondering WHO will be getting a face-full of confetti from me! Lookie:
STINKIN’ CUTE! I went for a more modern color palate, and Distress Oxide inks were just the thing to create it. I colored all of the pieces for this card, including all the confetti I cut out, with them.
I used the Banner Cake die and the Cue the Confetti set for the front of the card, embossing with gold embossing powder. I cut multiples of the Banner Cake die and stacked them, not only to give dimension but also the necessary weight to keep this card closed until the recipient opens it.
I decorated the cake and banner at the top with Nuvo drops to add a bit of bling.
This is the inside with the confetti mechanism poised. I created the mechanism out of 110 lb card stock and made the little envelope with some glassine paper. The mechanism works using a rubber band or an elastic band. But this doesn’t really show you it working, does it? Hee hee…watch this:
EEEEEEPPP!!! Isn’t that fun!
I just love the colors and how modern it looks!
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links from Ellen Hutson LLC. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
Now it’s time for you to move forward to Sharon Harnist’s blog. I know she’s got something SUPER COOL for you!
Here’s a list of everyone on the hop just in case you want to skip around:
