Paper Crafts Crew 272 – Simon Says Stamp Christmas Squad
Welcome back to the Paper Crafts Crew Challenge! This week we have a sketch challenge:
I had had a bit of a snafu with this month’s kit from Simon Says Stamp. The kit’s label was purchased, but the package was never picked up. I contacted the friendly people at Simon Says Stamp, and they shipped out another one. There’s a really cute stamp set in the kit, so I decided to use the kit to make today’s challenge card. Lookie:
STINKIN’ CUTE!! I wanted to use the Brother ScanNCut again, this time cutting the images right on the line instead of having a border all the way around.
The SNC did a pretty good job, though the really tight corners like where the cat’s tail met her back didn’t quite get cut all the way. Since I was using a black marker to go around the outside of an the image to get rid of that white edge (something I learned when I was scrapbooking), I just colored over any white bits in those spots.
I added some Wink of Stella clear to the collar/ribbon, the hat balls and cuffs, the hearts, and the star on the tree. I added dots of Sakura black glaze pen to the eyes.
The hearts also got a coat of Sakura Clear Glaze pen. I added a couple of Doodlebug sprinkles to the striped piece.
I love how crisp, bright, and clean this card turned out! I really feel the ScanNCut is taking me to the next level of crafting!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links go to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, who does not pay me except in eternal friendship, but you can change to your favorite demonstrator if you prefer. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
