Essentials by Ellen – Thistle plus Winners for Seasons Givings Blog Hop
I first want to say, I had such a great time reading everyone’s crafty resolutions! Everyone was very sweet and complimentary. I wish I could send everyone a prize, but alas, I can only give away the prizes I have! I used Random.org to draw the numbers, first checking carefully to eliminate any duplicate comments and making sure that people who ended up in the spam folder for some reason made it into the draw. So without further ado:
Zig Clean Color Markers – #86 Patty Eifert
Ink Cubes – #9 Hannah Cleveland
Adhesive – #64 Rhinda
Winners have been notified by email. Thanks for participating in a really wonderful hop! You folks blew up my stats and my comments!
Now, I’ve got a beautiful card I made a while ago with some great Essentials by Ellen stamps I got for my first guest spot with them, Thistle, along with the greeting from Snailed It! I was originally going to play one of the Pin Sight challenges with it and just didn’t get it off the ground in time. Lookie:
GOJUS! I used Altenew inks with this. You can see I’m playing with depth of field here. I love having the cubes because they allow me to shade right on the stamp .
I stamped the closer flowers and leaves with darker and more vibrant colors and the further away flowers and leaves with lighter colors.
I also speckled the background (first adding softly blended color) to add a little texture. After that, all I needed was some sequins for sparkle, some baker’s twine to reinforce the visual triangle, and a very simply stamped greeting.
So pretty and sure to cheer the recipient up, at least a little, between the punny saying, the beauty of the flowers, and the sparkle of the sequins.
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links go to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, who does not pay me except in eternal friendship, but you can change to your favorite demonstrator if you prefer. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
