Fab Friday 134 – Concord & 9th – Posie Fill-In
I decided to go ahead and use the Stampin’ Up! ink pads and card stock in these colors because I don’t really have a navy ink that’s close to Night of Navy and also I was tired and just wanted to get busy working on a card for this challenge. I had recently bought the entire new release from Concord & 9th because there were so many things I liked, and buying the whole release gives you a really good price so why not? I chose the Posie Fill-In set for this card. Lookie:
GOJUS! I had not bought the other fill-in set that Concord & 9th has, so I was eager to try this. First of all, you really need the MISTI to stamp with this set and line everything up. It took a lot of time to get that base piece done because it was such a new concept for me, but I love the look I got.
I stamped the main stamp with Soft Sky ink and used Powder Pink for the flower, So Saffron for the little flowers, Lemon-Lime Twist for the leaves, and Night of Navy for all the outlines and flower centers.
I decided to layer vellum over the top of the print to tone it down a bit in the center and take away some of the busy-ness of it. To adhere this, I used Scotch Vellum tape, which really does disappear under the vellum. I cut the word FRIEND using the matching Posie Fill-In dies three times and layered them up so that they would be at the same level as the tag line and the flower. I stamped the tag line with Versamark and used Steel Navy embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp which has a really pretty sheen to it.
I decided to add the flower on top of the vellum, which I really love the look of. I added some of the sequins from Buttons Galore & More because they matched the colors so well.
I really love the way this turned out and the way things above the vellum look like they are floating there.
