Reverse Confetti & My Sweet Petunia Blog Hop – Berry Sweet
Welcome to my blog for the Reverse Confetti & My Sweet Petunia Blog Hop! I was very honored to be asked. I love Reverse Confetti’s stamps and dies and was happy to get some new things to play with from them. You may have just arrived here from Laurie Schmidlin’s blog , but if you started here, you can follow the links forward completely to get to her blog from here.
This is not only a blog hop, but you have a chance to win some great prizes! We will choose two lucky commenters from the hop to win one of two prizes: a $60 shopping spree at www.mysweetpetunia.com and a $60 shopping spree at www.Reverseconfetti.com. You must leave your comments no later than Sunday, March 25th, at 11:59 PM Central time, and the winners will be announced on Tuesday, March 27th, on the Reverse Confetti and My Sweet Petunia blogs.
I’m continuing on my Please Spring Come to Michigan theme, looking forward to June in particular when there are some sweet fruits to be gathered. Lookie:
GOJUS! I love the Squared Off die with the Berry Sweet set because it looks a little like a basket.
I stacked 3 sets of blue card stock cut with the die to create some depth. I love the Cheerful and Kind paper peeping through!
To create the color for the berries, I actually flipped the outline stamp over and inked it with Hero Art’s Light Ruby to Royal Red ink for that beautiful gradation in color. Since I wouldn’t get even coverage using the MISTI because there would be no pressure in the center of the stamp with only the outline stuck to the MISTI, I had to gently press it to the paper using my fingers, but it worked really well! I then stamped the seeds and outlines on top using the MISTI in the usual way.
I added some Sakura Black Glaze pen to one berries seeds and some Sakura Stardust pen to the word Berry to add a little somethin’ somethin’.
I cut some of the little flowers with the matching dies and scattered a few over the background just to break things up a little. I pierced the center of each one using a paper piercing tool. I really love this, it’s so cute and just what I was picturing in my head!
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Hallmark Scrapbook, My Favorite Things, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links lead to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, whose friendship is something I highly value, and I’m always happy to throw business her way. She does not reimburse me for doing so. If you have your own demo, you can of course change over to them. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.If you’re reading this in an email, you’ll have to click TWICE on the links below, once to get to the LinkDeli site and again to get to the shop of your choice.
Next in the hop is Amy Rohl, and I know she’s got something fabulous for you! Below is a complete list of hoppers, so if you want to skip around you can. This is a stellar lineup, so I know you won’t be disappointed! Don’t forget to comment for a chance to win!
