Paper Craft Crew Challenge 301 – Simon Says Stamp – Mandy’s Flowers
Welcome back to the Paper Craft Crew Challenge! This week we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I just got the latest Simon Says Stamp card kit with Mandy’s Flowers in it, a really GORGEOUS set of stamps which I wanted to use right away, instead of waiting until just before I get the next kit!
Looking at the challenge, I could eliminate a lot of squares. Bundled product and designer series paper are SU! terms, and I don’t have any recent SU! stuff. I don’t have a lot of stamps in Southwest themes. I don’t use a lot of ribbon anymore. So I decided to go with Favorite Color/Designers Choice/Natural Accent. Lookie:
GOJUS! I loved this particular stamp from this set because I’m painting a watercolor right now using a blue mason jar, and this Audrey Blue from Simon Says Stamp is really my favorite color and is the same color as a blue mason jar. I grabbed one of the pieces of BoBunny patterned paper in the kit for the base. I stamped it on Cream #100 from Simon and got busy with my Copic markers.
I used my experience painting a blue mason jar to really show the highlights and shadows in the glass, adding in the stems of the flowers in the jar.
For the greeting, I decided to use the smaller greetings, cutting them into small rectangles and popping them up over the natural accent, which was the May Arts twine that comes in the kit. I used my Copics to “distress” the edges of the pieces.
I added Sakura Clear Glaze pen over the Farm Fresh and the top of the jar to make it look like glass. A little bit of clear Wink of Stella over the flowers made those more special. Some of the tiny Doodlebug hearts that came in the kit made great accents.
SO pretty, I just love it. I am patting myself on the back so hard I need to go to the chiropractor! Mandy’s Flowers has such pretty flower images, and I will definitely be pulling it out again for another card!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Scrapbook.com, Simon Says Stamp, Ellen Hutson LLC, Gina K, Sizzix, Hallmark Scrapbook, Amazon, and Blick Art Supplies. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra but remits a small percentage of the purchase price to me, which helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
