Sizzix Tim Holtz Wise Men

Sizzix Tim Holtz Wise Men

I finally recovered from being wiped out from Thanksgiving, so I’m back to show you another Christmas card! I could not resist much of Tim Holtz’s new Christmas release from Sizzix this year. This set of dies, Wise Men, was at the top of my list because I loved the unusual silhouette, so different from many I had seen before. I also had the perfect sentiment to pair with it from Scrapbook.com’s Miracle of Christmas Card Sentiments set. After creating the die cut, I decided to do the sky behind the wise men with Distress Oxide inks, which are all on sale on Scrapbook.com. Combine that with the fabulous sale at Sizzix on these dies, and you’ve got the perfect storm of crafty savings! Here’s what’s on sale this week at Scrapbook.com:

GOJUS! I used Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Dusty Concord, and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks for this card, along with Black Soot Distress in with some blending brushes to darken the edges. Using Tim Holtz’s Glass Media Mat makes for easy cleanup.

I cut the star from some Tonic Glitter card stock and added a clear jewel in the center.

And I embossed this greeting on the bottom of the card front from the Miracle of Christmas Card Sentiment set from Scrapbook.com.

While the cardstock I used for the die cut is Tim Holtz’s Kraft cardstock, I used a piece of Bazzill Sour Grape cardstock under the image to pull that purple from the background. I really love how it turned out!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Hallmark Scrapbook, My Favorite Things, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies.

Buying through these links costs you nothing extra but gives me a small percentage of the purchase price, which helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.

Enjoy! Ta!

  • That sky is a work of art. The galaxy is honestly drop dead gorgeous and gives the perfect completion to your silhouette style die cutting. Love the festive feel on this card. You are so talented. Thank you so much for joining us on Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. xx Ankita
