Watercolor Shimmer Card Stock Video – Sizzix Tim Holtz Whimsy Decor
I’m continuing on my quest to use all the new Tim Holtz dies I bought this year, and this time I decided to use Whimsy Decor, a darling set of dies to make Christmas ornament images that I think a lot of people have overlooked. Instead of using card stock for this, I wanted to get a softer watercolor look, and I thought how fun it would be to paint my own card stock to use with the dies and to create a watercolor background for those images. In fact, I thought it was such a cool idea that I made a video! Lookie:
GOJUS! I love the soft look the watercolor gives these cards. The advantage you get from painting your own is that you can create any color you like without having to invest in a lot of card stock.
I also used the stamp set from Tim Holtz called Crazy Talk for the sentiments.
And I used the Pine Needle Trio dies from Simon Says Stamp.
And the card stock I created for the dies shimmers! The video I created has some very helpful tips so be sure to watch it below:
I love how these turned out, and the Whimsy Decor die set certainly was perfect to use with this technique!
