Avery Elle Birthday Bus
I fell in love with this little set when it came out a little while ago, and I finally got it earlier this month. I sat down last week and got busy coloring with it. I originally wanted to use this for Fab Friday, but it didn’t work for the sketch and neither did the other one, so I ended up skipping the challenge all together since I had bupkiss. But I finished this card and you can see it now. Lookie:
STINKIN’ CUTE!!! I had such fun coloring this! I stamped it on Neenah Solar White card stock and used Copic markers.
I tried some tricks to make the bus look shiny, and I think it worked. I left a white streak and then went down one side with a lighter color.
I loved the idea of the balloons streaming behind the car, so I carefully placed them and drew the lines with a liner pen. Funny story, I thought the smoke puffs originally were FLOWERS meant to make the bus a FLOWER POWER bus until I realized A) there was not enough space on the bus to stamp them and B) they were for EXHAUST. DUH! LOL.
I loved the idea of piling the top of the bus with presents, so I stamped the present stamp twice. I thought having the cake riding on top with the presents was a lot of fun as well. I added little details with white gel pen. For balance, I added the two gold Doodlebug Sprinkles to the upper right corner.
I also added a nice shadow underneath the bus and added Sakura Stardust pen to the head and taillights as well as little spots on the hats, the banner flags, and the candle flame.
