This week we have a sketch challenge:
I decided to play along with another challenge, the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Tag You're It. I thought originally of adding a long tag, but thought it would be far more fun to use tiny tags instead. Especially when I decided to use the Mama Elephant set, Little Cat Agenda. I just love those little kitties! Lookie:
OMGosh, STINKIN' CUTE!!! I pulled out a very old Sizzix Originals die, Tag Scallop Combo, from back in the days of my first die cut machine, remember? The one that you had to pull a lever to smoosh the die into the cardstock and move the die under the lever until you covered the whole thing? It was tedious. I still have all those dies I bought then, especially the tag ones. Those bulky dies do one thing really well, which is cutting a bunch of card stock all at once. I was able to cut 5 tags at a time using this die, stamped my kitties and colored them all, allowing me also to participate in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
I used papers the Doodlebug Design Kitten Smitten 6 x 6 pad because I love the colors and feel the patterns are very suitable to a kitty card! So I matched my Copic colors up to that.
I decided to accent the tags with little bows of baker's twine.
The circular element was my last decision to make. I didn't want to use a doily, because I felt that it would be too frilly. So I decided to use MFT's Cross-Stitch Circles and cut a semicircle out of the pink heart paper. Then, I decided to grab Mama Elephant's Photo Bomb for the Happy Birthday greeting, but I wanted to use these beads which I have also had forever. They were white, though, and I wanted colored beads, so I colored them with Copics! So I only needed the word Birthday. I actually cut the stamp in between the Happy and the Birthday so that I could curve it more easily to match the curve of the circle die cut. With the Happy still attached, it just wouldn't curve and stay curved. I accented all the kitties and the letters in the word Birthday with my favorite Sakura Stardust pen for that little bit of bling and added two Doodlebug Sprinkles in silver to finish the card off.
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
