This week we have a color challenge:
First, I just love this rainbow combination! I sat down with my ink pads, Stampin’ Sponges, and a piece of Neenah Solar White and made myself a nice gradient in the same order. And I cut it into a few pieces, one of which I used on this card. I used the other one on another card, which I’ll show you another time. This one, though, turned out super cute! I decided it was the perfect thing to use with the stamp set from the latest Simon Says Stamp kit, Sea You Soon, with the exclusive Bikini die also included in the kit. Lookie:
GOJUS!!! I told you that gradient turned out da bomb! Once I finished sponging on the ink, I spattered a bit of water to create the splash marks which added a hint of the beach to the background.
After I die cut the bikini out of solar white, I used my mini scoring board and an embossing stylus to create stripes on the pieces for a little texture. I also ran the stylus down the edge of the gradient piece for a nice detail.
I used my MISTI tool to make this wavy border from the stamp set reach all the way across the card. The places where they overlapped are hidden under the gradient piece. I also inked up the greeting with two different colors to create a gradient on the greeting.
A little baker’s twine and a few of the Moonshine confetti pieces that came in the Simon kit made for the perfect accents.
I’m so happy with how this turned out!
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links lead to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, whose friendship is something I highly value, and I’m always happy to throw business her way. She does not reimburse me for doing so. If you have your own demo, you can of course change over to them. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
