Holly Jolly Greetings – Stampin Up – Photo Tutorial
In my last post, I shared some Pinspiration with you and today I have some more!
In going through my pins on my Papercrafts board, I ran across this card I pinned a while ago. I love this look, which I’ve seen in other places, and with the Little Letters dies from the big catalog, I knew I could do it! I thought Holly Jolly Greetings from the Holiday Mini would be the perfect set to use, and I was super glad we now have the thick Whisper White card stock to use! Lookie:
GOJUS!!! (YILM!) I used the Season of Cheer DSP for the letters.
The big headache was cutting the tiny pieces of dimensionals to pop up the letters. But I came up with an idea for that…you’ll see that on the next card. Lookie:
The letters are die cut from the Home for the Holidays DSP. And here’s how you do it:
You need wide double-stick foam tape (usually found in the framing section at your local big box craft store), though you can coat the back of the letters with dimensionals in a pinch.
Cut a piece of foam tape for each letter. I like to position the tape so that I get the parts of the image on the letters. In this case, I want to make sure to get holly berries on each letter.
Since it’s hard to position the letters on the top of the paper, put your paper piercing mat under the paper and trace around the tape with a stylus to create embossed edge than can be seen on the other side.
This helps you place the letters precisely over the tape. Then die cut both the paper and the foam tape at the same time.
It works a treat, but you do get the open holes in the die embossing on the letters when you do this.
Take a bone folder and smooth them down.
Here’s a few more details of this card:
And a few rhinestones in the corner to balance the design.
