Welcome back to the Paper Crafts Crew Challenge! This week we have a sketch challenge:
I spent a lot of time this past week or so watching Jennifer McGuire's videos on YouTube. I also just got the new card kit from Simon Says Stamp, which is already sold out (though you can still buy the components separately!) I loved the technique she used in her Split Coloring video, which reminded me of spotlight stamping. And so I decided to kind of combine the two for my card. Lookie:
GOJUS! I love this stamp set! I die cut a piece of the Cotton Candy card stock as well as a piece of the ivory card stock that came in the kit with the largest rectangle from the stitched rectangle dies from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped it with the Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide pad that came in the kit on the Cotton Candy card stock, and I used Simon Says Stamp Intense Black on the ivory card stock. I used the MISTI to stamp, positioning both the Cotton Candy and the Ivory card stock in the same the corner to make sure the images went to the same spot on both pieces. I then cut the ivory card stock with one of the smaller stitched rectangle dies.
I used Copic markers to color the image on the ivory card stock. I took the colors from the Echo Park paper that comes with the kit and added a few colors to help round it out. I used my favorite Sakura Stardust pen to provide glimmery highlights on the flower centers.
I used some of the lighter Warm Gray copics to color in the background, and I touched the colorless blender's tip to areas of the backgroudn to create soft speckles.
I used a piece of the Echo Park paper to create the banner strip.
I used a brush on the image on the Cotton Candy card stock to create a soft look. I also made this heart embellishment by creating a beautiful surface with the Distress Oxide pad and a distress Black Soot pad, and then I die cut it with the Hearts Align die from Simon Says Stamp. I used some Gold Sparkle Tape from Darice behind the die cut images to match the flower centers. I used a brush tip to softly speckle both the main image and the pink card stock with the Worn Lipstick Oxide ink.
I used the little hearts from the center of the die cuts on the top right and bottom right corner and placed a few soft pink jewels over the card front.
