Welcome back to the Paper Crafts Crew Challenge! This week we have a sketch challenge:
This is a cute sketch! I decided to grab a set I had bought and not used yet (again!), Bear & Bird by Waffle Flower Crafts. For my colors, I decided to pick ones to match whatever washi tape I ended up using. I decided on a cute floral washi I had bought from Target by Scotch Expressions, and wouldn’t you know, once I got done and started putting my links together for my supply list below, they don’t make that one anymore. So if you’re really hung up on the washi I used, you’ll be out of luck. However, there is so much washi out there, I’m sure you’ll find some equally beautiful! Lookie:
GOJUS and STINKIN’ CUTE at the same time!!! I love this set, with the bear that, when you use the matching dies, has his arms cut out so you can place different things in his or her hands. I chose the bouquet of flowers, though in order to get the bouquet to sit low enough so you could still see the bear’s face, I had to cut a couple of tiny slits in the bouquet piece, but it worked well! I used Distress Oxide inks first, though, to create the background, which I spattered with water and drops of ink.
I colored my images with Copic markers.
Here you can see the washi that provided the inspiration for my colors. I die cut everything and had fun arranging it over the circle.
There are 5 separate dies for the spray of flowers and leaves that curve around the circle on each side, and once I had everything arranged, I had these little flowers left, so I used them down in the corner to create my visual triangle.
I added black glaze pen to the eyes and beak/nose of the critters, and I also used it on top of the word Hello to give a little more dimension. The centers of the flowers and the purple flowers and heart all got some Wink of Stella. I also added some Nuvo Glitter drops for some bling.
I just love the bright, happy colors!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links go to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, who does not pay me except in eternal friendship, but you can change to your favorite demonstrator if you prefer. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
