Paper Crafts Crew 260 – Altenew Latte – Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop
Welcome back to the Paper Crafts Crew Challenge! This week we have a sketch challenge:
I decided to make a coffee themed card so that I could play along in the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! I had bought Altenew’s Latte back when it first came out, and I decided this would be the perfect time to use it for the first time. I had also bought Altenew’s Watercolor Frames with the coffee ring image that would be perfect to use with this. I also grabbed Distress Patterns from My Favorite Things. Lookie:
DISTRESSINGLY CUTE!! (har har) I chose a soft palette of brown Distress Oxide ink along with a touch of Fossilized Amber. But once I was done making my distressed piece, it just looked so BROWN. NOT my favorite color. So I decided I needed to add some fall-themed paper just to elevate the card (yep, been watching MasterChef, how did you know?) and add a little punch of color. I chose Lawn Fawn Fall Perfectly Plaid papers.
I started by making the background piece, sponging on the different Distress Oxide colors, spritzing with water, sprinkling more color over the top, and after that stamping with the Altenew Watercolor Frames and MFT’s Distress Patterns to create a great distressed, coffee-stained look.
For the focal piece, I used some Walnut Stain Distress Powder (and I’ve had this for a while and now of course it seems to be unavailable, but Black Soot should work equally well) for the main image, which made it look almost like a woodburned piece, and cut it out with the matching die. I used the Stitched Shapes bundle of dies from Simon Says Stamp for the banner die and rectangle. The little latte cup clip is from Doodlebug Designs and the enamel dots are from Carte Bella.
I used a couple of the sentiments that come in Latte to create a couple of little sentiment strips, one of which I stapled on.
The final touch was a nice piece of washi from Sweet Stamp Shop.
A card that any coffee lover would be glad to receive, especially with a Starbucks card inside!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links go to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, who does not pay me except in eternal friendship, but you can change to your favorite demonstrator if you prefer. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
