Simon Says Stamp – Artsy Fruits Again

Simon Says Stamp – Artsy Fruits Again

Remember back when I posted this card? I told you that I had made another card with the piece left from my ink-blended piece. This is that card. I decided to post it because Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge is Splatter It (and also their Flickr challenge), and it’s perfect. Lookie:

Artsy Fruits and Big Greetings 1 from Simon Says Stamp by JanTink

GOJUS!!! I loved the citrus image because it really functions as just a fun motif and the colors I had used on the last card were really reminiscent of the fruit slices you can buy at candy stores, still one of my faves, ever since *I* used to work at Fanny Farmer Candy. Yeah, all the candy I cared to eat during working hours (they encouraged it!) Their theory was you’d eat so much you’d get tired of it. But I never ever got tired of dark chocolate and caramel. Ever. Never ever. Anyway…I stamped the citrus image in all the different colors on my background. And I got a little smudge on it! Which led me to grab my Tim Holtz Distress Spritzer and my SU! markers and spritz that sucker up! And I liked it better! Happy accident!

I decided to add some interest to the ink blended piece by grabbing a die I’ve had for a while from My Favorite Things called Stitched Strip. It comes with little accent dies you can cut and place on the stitching lines so I decided to use some glitter cardstock with the little circle die for that.

I used a new set from Simon called Big Greetings 1 to do this piece on Bermuda Bay card stock, embossing it with white embossing powder and then coloring in the letters with my favorite Sakura Stardust pen. I used the Stitched Scallop dies from Simon to cut the edges of the strip and added of few of my glitter dots to accent that as well.

It’s so happy!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links lead to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, whose friendship is something I highly value, and I’m always happy to throw business her way. She does not reimburse me for doing so. If you have your own demo, you can of course change over to them. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.

Enjoy! Ta!
