Welcome to my new website with Giveaway and Video! Simon Says Stamp Believe with Darkroom Door Art Studio

This has been a long time in coming. I’ve been planning on moving to a self-hosted blog/website for over a year, and I’m happy to have finally arrived.

I encourage everyone to follow this blog by using one of the options in the right sidebar. If you subscribed to my old blog via FeedBlitz, you don’t need to do anything as I was able to merge my mailing list from that blog into this one.

I’m going to kick things off with a giveaway! Check at the end of this post for details on how to enter.

I also am coinciding my new website with the revival of my YouTube channel! I’ve got a new video ready for you to show you how to create the following project, which you can view below. Lookie:

GOJUS!!! This is Joseph’s Coat, but using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks, so I’m calling the technique Joseph’s Coat Oxidized!

I started out by creating the beautiful Distress Oxide background. After making sure it was quite dry, I stamped again using the Darkroom Door Art Studio border stamp with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear EP. I then rubbed more Distress Oxide ink over the top to brink out the design.

I cut the Believe die out of black card stock and then cut the shadow die out of vellum and mounted it on the card.

I stamped “in your dreams” right on the background using Versafine Onyx Black and heat embossed it with clear EP.

I added some Wink of Stella to the black die-cut Believe to give a little shimmer and added some Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter drops to accent, which immediately picked up the color of the ink beneath.

I love how it turned out, so beautiful!

Here’s my video on my process:

And now for my giveaway! This giveaway is open to anyone in the United States. No purchase is necessary, void where prohibited.

I’m giving away a Tonic Tim Holtz stamp platform! I just ordered one for myself to handle the large stamps like I used in this project, which I think would work with this stamp platform because of the open sides. I thought, “Why not give one away too!”

To enter, follow my blog in whatever way you wish:

  • Feedly (floating button in the lower right).
  • Bloglovin’ (button on the right sidebar).
  • Email subscription (Feedblitz) to get posts right in your inbox. If you’re already a subscriber from Stamps, Paper, Scissors, subscribing to my YouTube channel will count as an entry.
  • Mailchimp newsletter. (Monthly newsletter, separate from the email subscription).

Then comment telling me how you have followed me before 10:00 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Subscribing in more than one way does not count as more than one entry but is certainly welcome!

I will draw a winner at 10:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017, by random choice among those who have complied. Good luck!

Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links go to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, who does not pay me except in eternal friendship, but you can change to your favorite demonstrator if you prefer. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.

Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog to enter my drawing! Ta!
