Essentials by Ellen – Mondo Peony
I made this card for a friend of mine from high school who wanted a special Mother’s Day card for her mom. I wanted to do a watercolor card because this friend’s dad was my watercolor professor in university, my favorite professor as a matter of fact, someone I learned so much from and was such an encouragement to me. Her mom is a special lady too (they lived a block from my parents, so we have known each other forever!) Lookie:
GOJUS! It had been a while since I had used Mondo Peony, and I decided to keep the painting simple and loose.
I heat embossed with Hero Arts White EP and painted in the flowers, background, leaves, and stems using my Sakura Koi watercolors.
I used Altenew’s Inline Alphabet to create the word Happy, then added the Mother’s Day from Altenew’s Stunning Cosmos set on some vellum. A few ice cubes from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards Ice Cube mix added some sparkling highlights.
My friend’s mom loved the card!
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Stampin’ Up! links go to my BFF Wendy Weixler’s store, who does not pay me except in eternal friendship, but you can change to your favorite demonstrator if you prefer. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
