Essentials by Ellen November Release – Snow Buds and Alpine Snowfall
I was fortune to receive some of the new products from the Essentials by Ellen November 2108 release for free in exchange for promoting these very excellent products! I am always on board for anything that Julie Ebersole designs!
I received the new Alpine Snowfall die, the Snow Days stamp set, and the Snow Buds set and matching dies. I decided to do cards with the same Distress Oxide ink colors, one for each new product I received.
GOJUS!!! I had forgotten how much I loved Distress Oxide inks! I particularly loved these colors together, which are Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Shaded Lilac, and Wilted Violet. I did a different kind of application for each card.
This Alpine Snowfall card’s technique was just applying the colors of ink to my craft sheet, spritzing with water and picking up with my cardstock and then just drying the cardstock and doing this again until I was happy. I used the Alpine Window dies that were released in September and also the Classic Block Alpha and the Stitches Cover Plate.
I love these dies used with the Distress Oxides!
For the Snow Buds Card, I colored my images with Copic markers, die cut with the matching dies and set the pieces aside.
For the background, I stamped one of the stamps from the Winterscapes first in the Blueprint Sketch oxide ink that I had spritzed with water right on the stamp. I dried this ink, then stamped again on top with a different color spritzed with water, and I repeated that with each of the colors. I sprinkled with water and also with a little of the ink over the rest of the background. I think it created a cool look!
For the Snow Days card, I blended all my colors onto my background with blending tools, the added more ink from my craft sheet. I finished it off by spritzing it with Perfect Pearls mixed with water. It turned out so pretty I didn’t want to cut into it!
I combined the Alpine Snowfall and the Alpine Window dies with the Hearth and Home dies for this new scene. I stamped the greeting and patterns with the Distress Oxide ink and added a little color in the patterns with Copic markers.
All these cards turned out beautifully. I love the new Essentials by Ellen November Release!
