Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Tags
So, interesting things happen when you clean your craft room. You know how you lose something in your craft room so you have to clean it so you can find it? Well, I lost the little stamp set I used the other day on that Tim Holtz Wise Men card. I KNOW it’s stuck to the bottom of something, but I STILL haven’t found it. In the process of cleaning up my room, I sorted the paper bin I keep on my cutting table, and I found some tags I started LAST YEAR with Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright stamp set and matching dies and hadn’t finished. I actually had some ideas to finish a couple of the tags and improve others, and I have to say they turned out great! Lookie:
I’ve never been much of a tag maker, at least for gifts. I’ve done them for card fronts and for scrapbook pages, but this year I’m trying to make them for my Christmas gifts. Yes, people will throw them away (GASP), but let’s be honest. People throw our cards away too! Well, maybe not ALL of them. At least, I hope not!
The top left tag was made using some ink blending on the background as well as ink blending on the tree stamp. The Merry & Bright snowman tag was made by coloring the image with Copic markers.
I actually had the cardinal card made, but I pried it apart so I could add the ink blended background with the gel pen snow, and it just lifted it to a whole new level. It had better not be thrown away! I need a plan to grab these back, and then maybe I’l frame them or something.
These tag images were both colored with Copics and die cut. I also added clear Wink of Stella to all the die cut images on the tag and accented the sayings with my Sakura Stardust pen. I hand drew the wire connecting the two light bulbs
A little twine finishes these off nicely. I stamped the backs with the To: and From: stamps as well. I love this set with the matching dies for making ties, but you can also make really cute cards with these stamps!
