I was sent the product I am featuring, Suzy’s Fall Cards, for free so that I could share some projects with you!
If you’ve never gotten any of these before, let me tell you they are fun on wheels! No stamping, just coloring. These are printed on the non-textured side of quality watercolor paper. This paper is ideal for Zig Clean Color Brush Markers, so that’s what I used for the two cards that I have made from this pack of 12.
My two cards are different in that the first card I went WAY over the top, mostly because I messed up the background and had to do some work to fix it, and the second card I was able to color more simply.
Lookie:
GOJUS! I know, I know, there’s lots of work here. I messed up the background behind the mushrooms by using a shade of blue that was just too bright. So I painted white gouache over it to tone it down. And then I just kept looking at it and looking at it, trying to decide if I liked the blue sky. It wasn’t LOGICAL. Mushrooms grow in the forest after all. So I added a forest. Then I went kind of crazy with my Sakura gel pen. But it WORKED and brought this back.
For my second card, I went more simply. Zig Clean Color Brush markers blend beautifully. I colored the leaves, blending 2 or 3 colors for each. I also added a drop shadow under each leaf and nut and under the lettering. For both cards, I used a Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle die to trim them down and mounted them to the card base with a layer of fun foam to give the card some dimension.
I love my cards, and I’m looking forward to coloring up more of these!
Below are my links to the products I used in these cards, which are affiliate links for Simon Says Stamp. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra, and I receive a small percentage of your purchase total, which helps me keep doing what I do best. Thank you!
