Mitten State Stamps/Technique Junkies November 2019 Release
It’s release time for Mitten State Stamps and Technique Junkies, and this month, I have just one stamp being released, so I actually made a couple samples with that one, First Snow, and then another sample with a new TJ stamp being released this month, Winter Bouquet.
I made my stamp, First Snow, so that the child pictured could either be a boy or a girl and also could be any race. So to show this in action, I used no-line coloring and my Prismacolor pencils to create this first card:
GOJUS! In this case, I decided the child could be an African American boy.
I went over the snowflakes with white gel pen after coloring. i used Gamsol to blend the background to smooth it out a bit.
For my second sample, I colored the image with Copic markers, turning the child into a white girl. I again went over the snowflakes with gel pen to make the snow white rather than black. I added a snowflake using an older Martha Stewart punch. Both of these cards have sentiments from my Victorian Greetings set that came out last month.
I used the same color combination to color this beautiful bouquet. If this looks familiar, it’s because Tim Holtz released this image (bought from a market site that sells fonts and images for commercial use) in a much larger size last year, and I colored it then (that definitely helped me figure out the different areas of this image). I added the TJ Season of Joy Stamp for the greeting and the new TJ Brickwork stamp to create the gray background.
I used Copic markers to color the image.
Be sure to check out some of the other posts from members of the TJ Design Team using my new Mitten State Stamp, First Snow!
