Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflakes

Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflakes

I spent the Thanksgiving weekend making cards with my daughters, and we had a great time! I have had this background, Outline Snowflakes, from Simon Says Stamp since last year, so I decided it was a great opportunity to play with it and do some embossing resist painting with distress inks. Lookie:

I think this is one of the most beautiful cards I have ever made! I stamped the Outline Snowflakes background stamp with Simon embossing ink on watercolor paper and then really enjoyed building up the color in various areas while watching Home Alone II. Isn’t funny how when you are crafting, you can look at the item you made and remember the movie you were watching or the music you were listening to while you made it?

I used my Waffle Flower Water Media Mat and the mini Distress ink cubes smooshed in the squares in the palette area and picked the ink up with a brush. I love that mat. It’s one of those things I wish I had thought of!

I decided to make the greeting piece with the same method, using Simon’s Holiday Greetings Mix 1, which is quickly becoming one of my very favorite holiday greeting sets of all time! I added a little thin silver thread underneath for a little focus that doesn’t take away from the beautiful background.

I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins just for a little sparkle!
